- Researches in the invitro Fertilization aim to improve ovulation induction
techniques, fertilization techniques, culturing media for the embryos and
embryo transfer into the uterus.
- With all the advances in this field implantation of the embryo is still a big
challenge for doctors
Embryo implantation has several steps:
1- Zona hatching which involves zona pellucida lysis. 2- Apposition of the blastocyst against the endometrium. 3- Then the trophoectoderm start to invade the endometrium in preparation to the formation of the future placenta.
One of the causes of implantation failure is the inability to form an adhesive material between the blastocyst and the endometrium.
Embryo Glue is a new culturing media for the embryos to be put in for 10 minutes before transfer into the uterus.
-It helps the embryo in apposition against the endometrium, finding the proper place for implantation, becoming adherent to the endometrium and finally invasion of the trophoectoderm into the endometrium
The composition of the Glue are: 1- Hyaloronan: which is normally found in the oviduct and uterus and helps in blastocyst adherence into the endometrium. 2- Albumin. 3- Amino acids essential and non essential: both of which are important for blastocyst development and adherence in to the endometrium.
Embryo glue is associated with increase in Clinical pregnancy rates and implantation rates, especially in these cases: *In women >35 year old. *In women who had poor quality embryo. *In women who had previous implantation failure.
